Vendredi!

It’s a beautiful day in the quartier, a beautiful day in the quartier, in Paris! (Apologies to the late, great Mr. Rogers.)

I have homework (of course), but my friend Irene (from A2) has returned from Spain, and we’re meeting in less than an hour. Yay! She told me to forget trying to speak French with her, as her Spanish accent is now stronger than before. LOL. English, it is!

I also made two new friends in class today. They’re very interested in my upcoming class in Cours de français par les techniques du théâtre en présentiel. I am flattered that these two young women formed a message group with me and want to hang out and see Paris together. J is from China, getting her Master’s here in Paris, and N is from Uganda, living in Paris with her family (she promises to make me a pro with Metro). I am so psyched! Already, J and I made plans to have dinner tomorrow.

Update: my new class, based in theater technique is THREE (3) days a week, not 2. It’s the class I’ve always wanted, alas you aren’t eligible for it until you reach B1. I’ll post a partial description below in English.

Time to head out — I can’t wait to see my friend, Irene, and hear about her time in her homeland. We’ll be meeting at our usual spot near Bon Marché. The weather is perfect tonight for outdoor dining and people watching. Plus, it’s Friday, so it’ll be buzzing.

We finished out the week with a nice presentation on Saudi Arabia from my friend, Abrar. I think Turkey is next week, Portugal, Colombia, and China. Not sure what order. I feel like a world traveler.

À plus tard!
