Hier, il a plu!
It rained nonstop all night and day yesterday, so I spent the day indoors.
But Thursday, night, I treated myself to salmon served with ratatouille. It was delicious. I ordered a nice red wine, and they served bread with my meal – which I used to sop up the lovely sauce. Square filled.

In Paris cafés, it’s important to know, or remember that they won’t bring you the check. You literally HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. The wait staff in Paris are well trained and very attentive, so they are always looking to catch your eye and be of service. When you’re ready to pay, you need only say, “L’addition, s’il vous plaît!” Otherwise, they’ll let you sit there forever. So, I took full advantage of this and spent extra time people-watching as I wrote in my journal. Then, I chose a different route for the way home, enjoying the pleasant evening and exploring a an unknown street in my arrondissement.

C’est samedi âpres-midi et il est temps de se promener.
À tout à l’heure!
