I traveled back to the 6th arrondissement for a hair appointment. Last summer, I had my hair done there by a young woman from Ukraine. When I passed by the other day (yesterday?), I took a snapshot of the QR Code on the door. I went online to schedule an appointment, and sure enough, Victoriia still worked there. I made my appointment with her and saw her this afternoon. They all remembered me, which was sweet.
She’s a great stylist, but I will say, she has the straightest hair I’ve ever seen, so I knew what to expect. She wanted me to let me hair dry naturally. Because my hair is quite curly. But… I really didn’t want the frizz. I also didn’t want a lot of the blow dryer heat. So, I went with frizz. I’m still battling it, hours later. My hair is so wide right now.

I had fewer struggles with the Métro today. I took line 7 and 10, I think. I stopped at a café I haven’t been too since my first trip in 2022 on Rue de Sèvres-Babylon. I used to meet my friend Irena there.

It was so hot today – I know, I don’t need to tell anyone on the East Coast of the United States about heat. But it was a bit of a scorcher today.
After my appointment, I wandered to FNAC for a silly charging cable that I needed for my phone battery. It’s all “extra,” but good to have. I somehow misplaced it moving from my last apartment to here. I’ll probably turn up when I get home. You know how that goes.
89 degrees is 89 degrees. Quote me.
I had an Orangina and a full bottle of water!

I struck up a lovely conversation with the woman next to me at the café and she recommended a nice restaurant in Montmartre. We had a nice conversation – en français, bien sûr. She was on lunch break. I don’t know what it is, but I meet and greet Parisians all the time who are supposedly unfriendly, yet they’re not. I mean, they’ll say it about themselves, so I respect the reputation. lol. Still, I have made wonderful friends here, as you all know.
A quick bite to eat before I went to my old boulangerie, and then headed home on the 4 and the 1 Métro lines.
This dropped me off at Saint-Paul, so I had a little walk. Every side street to MY apartment was roped off with Gendarmes standing guard. I took the long way home, but I wasn’t stopped, frisked, or arrested. I did ask one of them if the road was closed. How brazen of me!
Luigi was yelling for my attention when he heard the key in the door. He’s resting now after attention, windows open, and a little brushing.

Spoiled.
It’s still hot, and it’s 19h30.
I felt today was quieter in the neighborhood. Day 1 of the new security system was LOUD all day. But no sirens as I type. The Gendarmes are quietly standing at their MANY posts. And, excitement for the Olympics is in the air!
