Les Cérémonies d’ouverture ! 🇫🇷
I exited my building to camera crews and about 40,000 gendarmes and military – and seriously, my entire boulevard was lined with police and security vehicles – I lost count.

Currently on my second métro en route to my Opening Ceremonies venue. easy-peasy so far. Again, subways are empty. Everything is so controlled and you are allowed access to where your tickets say you can go. My apartment is near a bridge – hence the police/security. And I am literally living at the border of the black zone.
Long walk – but what are the odds that the route took me past my first Parisian apartment.

And…I’m in! I was right at the front when the gates opened.

I was at the front when they opened the gates, so that was cool.
Also, because I had a bottle of water in my bag, the gendarmes made me drink some of it in front of them to prove it was water.
In my seat. Amazing. No words.

They handed out ponchos when it started to rain. But it’s Paris. It has cleared again. lol.
It rained. And then it rained. lol! The crowd got into it.
Raucous in the rain!
And proud…
Omg – La Marseillaise 🇫🇷 – what an anthem!
