Later that same day…

Enjoying a Lillet Spritz at a local bistro. It’s Apéro Hour. I like this drink k because it has pamplemousse – grapefruit juice, which I love.

The weather has been sublime. When the kids are blue here, there’s nothing like it. There’s a gentle breeze. Dining out is perfect.

I’m here with my groceries next to me, feeling quite content. I had a relaxing morning. Nowhere to be! Just me and Luigi chillin’. I could have done without his sitting on the roof “stoop” (!!!) but otherwise, all was relaxed.

I had a tutor session, and then set out to find a gift for Nathalie et Lillian. Not easy. I didn’t have anything in mind. That’s the worst when you enter a huge 6-floor department store (plus a basement, plus rez de chaussée (street level). So much! I was overwhelmed yesterday, and returned today with determination.

I decided on a few small items – to add to a « Paris Olympics 2024 » canvas tote. I wanted to give things representative of why I’m here. I found a small novelty cat item, which waves its paw – activated by the power of the sun. Nathalie is very into energy conservation, etc. She has a similar item that is the queen of England, waving. lol! Remember, it’s an apartment. I can’t go large, here. Then, I went with consumables. Lillian is a MAJOR wine collector, so I bought a commemorative bottle of champagne – with the tricolor flag 🇫🇷 on the label, and a box of Champs-Élysée chocolates, also decorated for the Olympics. As I’ve been tending to her kitchen plants and some on the terrace, I bought her a special isl small red glass vase with an acorn « seed, » to start growing an Oak tree. In that note, her basil plant is failing, so I added a new basil plant for her kitchen window area. Finally, I bought her a tricolor fan – for her next Olympic events and future fêtes françaises.

I think I did well. And I found a blank card in Montmartre – that was an illustration of a cat on Paris rooftops (!) and a blonde female sunbathing on the terrace beneath. Close enough. It’ll be very amusing!

And about 6 armed-to-the-teeth military types just walked by in case anyone forgot we are still under HEAVY security.

I’m tired and I have absolutely no plans tomorrow. No tutor. Nothing. Rien!
