Sunday. Dimanche, en français.
I’m still blogging because as a friend so aptly stated, “You still have a foot in each country.” Truth. The transition back to the United States is not yet complete. I am saying this, whilst watching France24.TV!

Yesterday, when I went to the local French bakery here in town, as I mentioned, and I so wanted to speak French. It was actually quite difficult to resist doing so.
This morning I found that my baguette wasn’t quite as stale as it would be in Paris – just needed a little jam to make it work with my coffee.
Des nouvelles…
Back in May, just before I left for Paris, I had taken an online French exam with a well-known tutor company. I did so, casually, more out of curiosity, than anything else. They also required that I write a bio.so, I did that, too.
I was immediately informed that I had passed the French test (which was quite challenging!). So, I thought, oh good, that’s nice to know. Only then did I realize that the test I took so nonchalantly on my phone (!) could not be taken again. Oh! Okay, then. Honestly, had I known that, would I have taken it? No. Certainly not, so cavalierly anyway. I would have delayed, delayed, delayed. lol. The universe intervened.
But, it seemed I was not yet “approved,” as they wanted more information in my bio/introduction page. Okay. This time, I sat down to write something more seriously. Then, voilà! I was approved to be a French tutor. I was then informed that you only get two chances to write your Introduction page. Oh my! I had no idea. They don’t tell you these things upfront nor maybe they do, and I just missed it.
Since I was about to head to Paris, I didn’t want to “open” my page to prospective clients. And, I didn’t know then, that I’d be gone for some 10 weeks! I put it in pause for the time-being.
So, upon returning home, I received an inquiry, and it seems I have my first client(s). Two very young girls, whose mother wants them to learn or at least be consistently exposed to a second language. She does not speak French herself, so this is a tall order. I will be honest with her about the challenges I see.
Stay tuned. I think she’s hired me – but as it is my first client, and I am just signed into the app, I’m not sure if it’s official.
Today, Sunday, I will have class with Alex and Tom, who became quite famous during the Olympics – in their work for NBC! I am so proud of them!
I didn’t get to see them in this visit as they were attending 3 events or more all over France for NBC. But they kept in touch via text.

Currently, they are doing work again for NBC And it’s the amazing Para-Olympics, as is my friend, Dr. David.
