It’s Sunday. I am just waking up, so I say that to remind myself.

I have a full day ahead. French tutor session with Blandine this morning – then I’m meeting my friend David (from the French Club) for a 4- or 5-hour tour (in French!) of the Latin Quarter. My feet hurt already, and I’m still in bed.

I think I might need a nap after all that.

At some point, I’ll have to catch up with Natalie and Lillian, who I heard come home late last night.

Just two weeks left here. What to do? More visits to museums. Meetups and outings with friends, like Hélène and Jennifer.

But mostly, I need to absorb MY Paris. I always treasure the last two weeks. They’re precious now. For whatever reason, whenever I’m here, I tell myself that I never know if I’ll be back. Paris always feels like such a magical, once-in-a-lifetime visit, so I never take her for granted. I plan trips and things, but a lot of “life” happens during and in between those plans. I mean, I always have an adventure or two. Or more.

Let’s see, in no particular order (because that’s how my brain works), I’ve had: Olympics, coffees, champagnes, museums, gendarmes (including them having me drink my water in front of them), rain, blistering heat, French language study/practice, Chanel, Amsterdam, Taylor Swift, banking problems, cell phone problems, 3 apartments, champagne, a few flirtations, plenty of boulangerie visits, souvenirs, more subway rides than I can count, French food, old friends, new friends, cigarette poser moments, did I say champagne — and let’s not forget Luigi!!! As if.

If I didn’t write a blog, I might forget the details. It’s really my journal, though I try not to get personal. other than the innocent and very French moment on the Seine with my new friend, notwithstanding. And unexpected. It was too Paris not to share.

I hope other “ATFrenchies” members join David and I on our tour today. it’s going to be taxing – listening and speaking en français for so many hours – especially after my morning session with Blandine! David is way more fluent than me.

Checking the weather, it’s going to be a high of 76 degrees Fahrenheit, with clouds. PERFECT. OK, definitely sneakers for all the cobblestones in the Latin Quarter, jeans, sleeveless tank, and a tote with umbrella and windbreaker, and maybe a scarf. Because, Paris.

It’s late – and I am heading to Les Pyramides to meet my French class friends to see the Cauldron!!!!!

Earlier today the three of us went on a 5-hour tour of Paris – à pied!!!

My feet still hurt. Oh but we had so much fun. My friend David, who is a doctor for the U.S. Olympics team treated us. so generous and fun.

Matthias, David and I are now meeting at Café du Louvre – with plans to see the Olympic “flame” (cauldron) in the air. I’m so excited.

Nathalie and Lillian went to bed. They probably heard me come in and go out again and are wondering where I’m going. It’s crazy, I know, but… it’s Paris.
