Mondays are always transitional. I admit to speaking some English pendant le week-end. I guess I fell off the linguistic wagon. Not for long, though, because we were right back at it at 9:00 a.m.
Lots of conversation/dialogue so far in this new level, which I need and which I liked very much. For some reason it’s easier for me to present to the group in a foreign language. I’m sure a psychologist out there can analyze this and get back to me. I know in France, all children are EXPECTED to do this confidently and comfortably. I don’t think they have or need public speaking courses because it’s truly a part of their education. The language is strong. Forte! It’s not to be whispered.
After class, I bought myself a t-shirt, showing my school pride.

When I left home, I had told my son I was going to design a T-shirt with « ParisAF » for the double entendre. (I still intend to do so.)
And, since it’s « Saint Valentin Day, » I couldn’t walk past the Chocolate Shop without popping in, now could I? Oh-la-la! Not today! It’s right across the street from mon appartement, so, you know… I had to. I bought a little treat for myself, which I haven’t yet tasted. Stay tuned. Such restraint, I know. But not too much, because a few steps further, and behold! there was a SALE on some fun and funky women’s tops. And so many great designs to choose from. It amused me to see shirts with American/English words incorporated in the designs. I guess it’s universal to play with foreign words in design. I decided on a shirt with Klimt’s « Le Baiser » because, Saint Valentin, bien sûr! I’m blaming him for all my purchases today.
(Update: the chocolate is delicious!)

Lots of homework, so I’d best get to it. (Cultural Event tomorrow – Tasting of wines from the Bordeaux Region – après l’école.)
À tout à l’heure!
C’est amusant! Joyeuse Saint Valentin! Je t’aime cher ami!
