Are you bored with me, yet? I had to ask before I post that it was another good day here in Paris. The weather is gorgeous, the sun is shining, and people are out and about this afternoon — no doubt getting things done before le grève du metro. We’re expecting a strike tomorrow. School may be online, we don’t know yet. (Update: school will be en ligne demain!)
Oh, and tomorrow is the next cultural event (not today, as I thought). We will be visiting the Pinault Collection à la Bourse de Commerce. The event isn’t cancelled, but everyone will have to find alternate transportation, i.e., à pied. Honestly, the number of bikes and scooters and other individual modes of transportation are wildly popular here.
(Update: the visit to La Bourse de Commerce has been changed to next week.)
Still enjoying B1 class. I have to decipher some of my notes because there was a lot of new vocabulary for me today. I’m the “word nerd” who likes doing that after school — reviewing and deciphering the day’s work, and listing the new phrases, and material I learned. I’ve always loved words and language. When I was young, I would announce to my mom, “I learned a new word today.” She got a kick out these daily pronouncements, so, mom, wherever you are, I hope you’re listening because I am learning a lot of new words here in Paris.
One of those words is tricoter, a regular “ER” verb meaning: to knit. I actually packed a small knitting project I’d started at home. I’m using a lovely yarn in a deep rose color. It has a slight tweedy look and is a blend of merino wool (la laine), cashmere (le cashmire), and silk (la soie) to make a lacy scarf (l’écharpe) for myself. So far, in 3 weeks, I’ve knitted exactly one row. That’s how busy I’ve been. At this rate, it’ll be summer by the time I finish.
Mais, je m’en fiche! C’est la vie!

.
I can’t think of much to say. I’m in awe of your life and love reading your daily reports on “Lisa in Paris.”
