02Apr22

Welcome, April! This is my favorite month because it’s when both my babies were born. La saison de Pâques est partout ici, en chocolat en tout cas.

Mes enfants me manquent!

Je passe l’après-midi à faire du lèche-vitrine. (And I hope that doesn’t translate LITERALLY, because you wouldn’t want to know.)

Not sure I ever mentioned it, but there’s a cellist in the building. I hear her practicing oftentimes when I’m quietly studying. Charming, really.

I think I’m going to enjoy having Wednesdays and Fridays off in addition to weekends this month. Even with all the intense memorization, it is definitely still a lighter schedule.

Here’s something to blog about: Today, I purchased dental floss and a face wash in the local pharmacie. The pharmacist showed me a nice face oil, which he tested on my hand, but I told him « 99 euros est trop cher, alors, pas aujourd’hui. » It does seem odd to say I bought such essentials in Paris of all places, but I didn’t come here to live like a tourist; I came here to live like a Parisienne, so sometimes it’s just an ordinary afternoon in an extraordinary city. La vie quotidienne!

I also perused a bookshop, and picked up a very small book on a favorite artist, Berthe Morisot, as well as a French Grammar workbook. I’m such a word nerd.

Not sure what I’m doing for dinner tonight, but there will be du vin et du pain.

No, not this one. Lol! I ALMOST bought this, but it’s for beginner dummies, not intermediate dummies!

À tout à l’heure!

This is my book – lots of practice exercises!
C’est moi, alors je fais ma promenade quotidienne devant le miroir du hall.
